ReplyDeleteNice that The Gold Rush was given a performance at the library last November 7. ... Wouldn't Brooks approve of Mrs. Butterfield providing for the village library in her will. ... As for accompanist Cary Brown, the library's Newsletters say: "Cary has provided musical accompaniment for silent films since his days as a student at the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester...." Hmm. We approve.
From carybrown.com/bio: He earned a double degree in classical piano performance and film studies. Very good. He had a fruitful "ska-jazz phase", then "spent a few years recording and touring with singer-songwriter Sloan Wainwright." Gee -- Loudon's sister and Rufus's aunt. Now "gigging and recording with The Cary Brown Trio". Hmm. Anyone who wants to suggest "Lulu's Back in Town" can do so via cary@ his website. ... Doesn't mention his local libray on his Calendar.
