Vanity Fair

Reports have it that there is a picture of Louise Brooks on page 106 of the November, 2010 issue of Vanity Fair. I haven't seen it yet. Has anyone ?

  1. Hmmm. Yes, it's a portrait about the size of Thymian's stamp, along with one of Dietrich. The brief text says in part, "Hollywood used to be absolutely heaving with femmes fatales: Louise Brooks, Rita Hayworth, Joan Bennett, and Veronica Lake, to name a few ...".

"A new book, Let's Bring Back, chronicles traditions, personalities, heirlooms and elements of past generations worthy of being dusted off and enjoyed once again." Page 106 has a selection of them, including Humphrey Bogart, Bette Davis, and radio dramas.

(Since they put Lulu in Hollywood, I'll opine that Gilda would have been a great Louise Brooks vehicle.)

  2. (... co-starring Richard Arlen.)
